exploring the visual

my earliest childhood memories of consciously exploring the visual are from summers at the beach, when, chilled from swimming too long in the cool pacific, I would lay prone on sun-soaked pebbles and enter new worlds formed through ocean-dropped eyelashes. these worlds of refracted sunlight, awash with colour and vibration were spaces where seeing and feeling merged and in which the sounds of the world faded.

exploring the visual is still a powerful influence in my life and through my day, I continue to find joy as images cross my path, just as in my childhood, and suspend me in visual moments in incredibly blissful ways.
